The Darkest Prison By: Gena Showalter

The Darkest Prison (Lords of the Underworld, #3.5)The Darkest Prison by Gena Showalter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story takes place in between book 3 and 4, and can be found in "Into the Dark"

So what happens when two Gods from different backgrounds are bound together out of lust! This story happens!

Atlas, the Titan God of Strength was the Greek Goddess Nike's slave. (Nike is the Greek Goddess of Strength) What happens when the tables are turn and its Atlas's turn to be in the lead?

With Nike now under Atlas control will she give into him after the pain he left her with the first time.

Again I love short stories that add to a really good plot already. It was a sweet story over all.

The Darkest Pleasure By: Gena Showalter

The Darkest Pleasure (Lords of the Underworld, #3)The Darkest Pleasure by Gena Showalter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 3 (WOOT!) of the Lords of the Underworld series.

Danika Ford and her family where first seen in Book 1 but now Danika is back. Is she yet another key in helping find the box? She is a woman on the ran but all she knows is that the Gods want her dead. With her side-kick Gilly they try to figure things out.

Reyes hasn't been able to stop thinking about Danika. He must find her before Aeron can. With little time to lose he makes his way to her. Only to find that that warmth he felt every time she was around before is hotter. What is a man to do when he can't feel pleasure without pain? Being bound by the high Demon Lord of pain isn't going to make this relationship any easier.

There is a lot of side tracking in this book but it brings a lot of things together in the end. I will not go into you'll just have to read it.

Over all, slow start but boy is the ending great.

The Darkest Kiss By: Gena Showalter

The Darkest Kiss (Lords of the Underworld, #2)The Darkest Kiss by Gena Showalter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was the first book out of the series that got my hooked into reading the others. I most say it is one of my top 5 for this series.

So this takes up right after "The Darkest Night."

Anya is the Goddess of anarchy who just happens to find that the Lords of the Underworld maybe able to help her with her little problem. O.K. it may not be so little but Anya has her eyes set on Lucien (The holder of Death) to aid her.

Lucien didn't want anything to do with Anya, even if she had the most lick-able lips when she is sicking on she lollipops. She was a problem he didn't have time for. Not with the Hunters looking for Pandora's box or dimOuniak as its older name.

Could Anya have a key to helping the lords get closer to finding Pandora's box or is she out for herself in the end.

I love the cat and mouse game with Anya and Lucien. Just thinking about some of the scenes make me hot.

Over all, the books need to be longer so then don't end as fast ^_-

The Darkest Night By Gena Showalter

The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1)The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book one for the Lords for the Underworld series by Gena Showalter. I picked up book two when I was looking at a second hand book store, when I realized it was the second one I started by search for the first book and whatever came after it at the time.

I have not gotten into a series so fast as this one. It helped that I was late to the party and could get 6-8 books right away.

Ashlyn Darrow is not your normal girl. She can hear voices. No not the ones from someones mind but from the past. She can stand in one place and hear every conversation that has ever happened there. Till she meets Maddox. Just him being around stops the voices, but why would they stop for him?

Maddox holds demon lord Violence within him. Like his follow warriors they all hold something dark within them for their punishment, but Maddox most of all. Will Ashlyn be able to set Maddox free, or will Maddox fear hold them both back.

This is a new twist to Pandora's box legend and I fall in love with it right off the bat. As a kid I was really into myths and legend.

Over all, the characters were well written, the plot seems like it will go on and on to make a great series over all.

The Darkest Fire By: Gena Showalter

The Darkest Fire (Lords of the Underworld, #0.5)The Darkest Fire by Gena Showalter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So again I was bad and ended up getting the second book in this series before the first. I wasn't too lost but again when reading a series start at the begin. In this case this story came out after the first couple of books.

It was short and sweet and to the point. The copy I have is from "Into the Dark"

This takes place before all the other story. This is what happened to make Pandora's box...

Geryon the guardian of Hell, more beast then man, watches the Goddess Kadence everyday as she checks the walls holding in all the evils of the world. Till one day she asks for his help.

Kadence the Goddess of Oppression is bound to Hell as its watchers, but that is not the only thing she keeps on eye on.

When Kadence see there is a problem with the wall that she didn't feel before hand she most face off with the evils of underworld.

With Geryon help she learns that Hell fire isn't the only thing that can burn a soul.

I love short stories that pull little things in a series together and this one is cutie.

Over great, and hope to see more short stories for this series in the future.

Caressed By Ice By: Nalini Singh

Caressed By Ice (Psy-Changeling, #3)Caressed By Ice by Nalini Singh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

See I was smart this time for this book. I ordered it along with book two of this series ^_^

Judd Lauren, an ex-arrow (special forces for the Psy) who ran from Psy live to help his sisters kids live a normal life outside of the conditioning. With young boy and a teenage girl to look after life can be hard. Harder still is the fact that everything he fought for may come to an end due to just one woman. With powers that need to be kept in check all the time, just a small cares from this woman makes everything fly.

Brenna Shane Kincaid, a woman that has made it out of hell and back only to face a new nightmare. One that is strong and willing to stand by her, every if he doesn't know what to feel.

Out of the series, this has to be one of my top 5. The plot just keeps getting bigger, the main characters I just fell in love with, and the fact that the author keeps other character from the other books in the circle of things just makes the world more complete.

Visions of Heat By: Nalini Singh

Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2)Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With book one down I couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book in the Psy-Changeling series... Only to have my local Chapters not have it in!!!!

It's ok, I used the internet (WOOT!) to order it and have it to my door step within the week.

I will point out that this series has a lot of info to follow so if you are planning on reading the books out of order I wouldn't. I read book 10 of the series before going back and there was some people that I had no idea who or why their were there.

So book two, Visions of Heat!

Faith NightStar is a F-Class Psy, what does this mean? She can see the future. Cool right, not so much when her visions become that of blood and murder. Not only has her vision gone to a dark place but also an exquisite pleasure with a man that should stay out of her house and mind.

Vaughn D'Angelo a man with more animal instinct then he should. runs into lovely Faith on one of this runs. At for sight this animal side can't get enough of her.

With Faith wanting to reach passed her conditioning to see what a world full of colors really looks like can she take the last steps outside her door?

I really like the plot for this story, it opens up a lot of doorways for the series. As for the couple, I loved them.

Over all, the plot keeps getting better and better.

Slave to Sensation By: Nalini Singh

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1)Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a series that I did what I normally do at a second hand shop or book store and end up getting a book that right at the end of the series.

I was welcomed into Nalini world of psys and changelings with "Kiss of Snow". Couldn't put that one down so I figured I was just pick up the rest of them.

In a world where emotions are a weakness to a Psy, Sascha Duncan most cover up that her conditioning is failing.

Lucas Hunter is a man that is looking for the killers of his pack mates.

It is fun to watch the interact of the main characters with one another, as the learn what makes the other work.

Sascha is a woman fearing what she feels and most come to terms with what the Psy have really done to their people. Lucas was looking for the key to who killed so many of this kind only to find passion in the eyes of a woman that shouldn't have any.

The main story arch for this book is that the Psy conditioning that was enforce years ago is starting to fail and in doing so new/lost powers are starting to show. More and more killings are happening within the Psy cities and the population is looking for answers.

Over all, loved this book. It was hot, sexy, along with all the cool mind tricks psy can do, I couldn't stop reading. It was to the point where I just finished this one and ran for the next.

The Hunger Games By: Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1)The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So I knew the movie was coming out for this one and really wanted to read the book before seeing the movie and boy was I happy I did. The movie was good mind you but it didn't really hit all the main problems the main characters comes across. This isn't a movie review so on to the book.

Meet Katniss, a 16 girl who is down on her luck, is poor but still has one friend to watch her back and a family to care for. That is till her little sister is picked for the hunger games and she takes her place. Two people are pick from each area and then are force to face off one another. It is a mean game of kill or be killed. The winners gets fame, money, and food. The catch is there can only be one winner.

The characters are well rounded, the history itself is something I would like to know more of. (Yes I know its only book one). All in all a good read, I will be reading the other two books.

This book did remind me of Battle Royal in the way the people are picked and forced to face off. Even some of the tech that was same. I can't wait to see how the story ends.

Back Log!

So after job changes and working for MTL Comiccon it is time to look at the back log of books that I have read over the passed two years and have not reviewed.
